Upgrades Lead to Big Savings in Chicago

A new benchmarking report aimed at measuring the success of Chicago’s efforts to become a more energy efficient city has found a total energy reduction of 13 to 23%, which translated into savings of $44-$77 million. The benchmarking study looked at almost 350 commercial buildings in comprising 260 million square feet, representing healthcare, offices, and schools. Additionally, the report outlines 12 best practices to improve energy efficiency.
