Office construction is the fastest growing nonresidential green building sector, composing 60% of new projects worth $16 billion. In all, a total of $81 billion worth of nonresidential construction this year was considered “sustainable”, which composes almost 50% of all nonresidential construction. This compares with $3 billion, or just 2%, invested in green building in 2005.
